The Seattle Lesbian & Gay Film Festival presents selected filmmakers with audience favorite and juried awards.

Audience Favorite Awards are determined by ballots completed by attendees during the festival. The awards presented on Closing Night are:

  • Favorite Narrative Feature
  • Favorite Documentary Feature
  • Favorite Boys Short
  • Favorite Girls Short
  • Favorite Local Film

Three Dollar Bill Cinema Awards for Excellence are chosen by our esteemed panel of jurors and include a cash prize. Three juries will convene to select the following awards:

  • Best Feature Film
  • Best Documentary Film
  • Best New Director
  • Best Local Film
  • Best Short Film (The Wolfe Best LGBT Short Movie Award)
  • Most Innovative Short Film.

The winner of the Best Short Film will receive a special cash prize from Wolfe.

Chris Diani

Chris Diani is an award-winning director, screenwriter, and producer. His first feature film, CREATURES FROM THE PINK LAGOON, played in last year’s Seattle Lesbian and Gay Film Festival and went on to be named one of Cinephelia’s top 10 independent films of 2006.

Beth Barrett

Beth Barrett, for the last 3 years, has been the Programming Manager for the Seattle International Film Festival, and a programmer for the 1 Reel Film Festival and the Tallgrass Film Festival.

Bard Ydén

Bard Ydén runs the Oslo Gay & Lesbian Film Festival. A simple feller who loves film, music, art, and irony–and sharing it.

Justine Barda

Justine Barda started volunteering for SLGFF in 1996. She was co-director with Kirsten Schaffer until 2001 and director until 2004. She is now consulting on two European film productions.

Drew Dennis

Drew Dennis is Executive Director of the Queer Film Festival in Vancouver, Canada. The 11-day celebration boasts the best in independent queer film from around the world and occurs each August.

Fred Swanson

Fred Swanson is Executive Director of Gay City Health Project, and is also a movie buff, soon to be dad, home renovator, gay husband, car nut, and popcorn lover. Being a judge comes naturally.

Daniel Y. Mayer

Daniel Y. Mayer is currently the General Manager & Development Director of the Kirkland Performance Center. A former arts and entertainment attorney, he has worked with many arts organizations in Seattle, Washington DC, New York, and Chicago.

Gary Tucker

Gary Tucker has toiled for the Telluride, Sundance and Seattle film festivals, the Egyptian Theatre, Seattle Repertory Theatre, ACT, the Henry Art Gallery, the Hawaii Theatre Festival, and Intiman Theatre.

Jane Winslow

Jane Winslow is an award winning independent producer/director and editor who also teaches Digital Video & Filmmaking at institutions such as Shoreline Community College and 911 Media Arts.
